Summer Ramp Up

Purpose
To prevent summer slide and intentionally scaffold the academic, social, and organizational transition into high school.

Structure

  • Dates: July 27 – August 6, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–12:30pm
  • Format: 8 instructional days
  • Audience: Rising 9th graders (public and private schools)
  • Registration Deadline: May 15, 2026
  • Pilot Launch: Invitation-based cohort with reduced tuition to co-develop the program

Core Offerings

  • High school math reinforcement and confidence-building
  • Language Arts preparation and sustained novel study
  • Study skills and time management (Pomodoro, prioritization, balance)
  • Cooperative learning and team-building
  • Orientation walkthroughs (schedules, policies, expectations)
  • Goal-setting using proximal and distal goal hierarchies
  • Reflection on learning identity and school experience
  • Movement and embodied learning
  • Preparation for extracurricular engagement and leadership

Pedagogical Throughline
Grounded in Social Cognitive Theory, Self-Determination Theory, Flow Theory, and research on interest development as a learnable process.
